Recording and mixing at Philomusica is a pleasure: clear, quiet, and flat. Basic recording is accomplished through Logic Pro X or Cubase (usually the former); our audio interface is an Apogee Rosetta 800. Our microphone selection includes a Neumann U87, a pair of AKG 414's, a pair of Neumann KM184's, and several dynamic mics; they enter the system via a pair of vintage Neve 1272 mic pres, or via a Mackie Onyx 1640i. Monitoring is accomplished via a pair of 8" Genelecs , 6" JBLs, or a pair of Auratones, plus an array of headphones. Plug-ins include Omnisphere, Kontakt , Ivory, Trillian, Stylus RMX, Melodyne, and several Waves plug-ins; external instruments include a Roland RD-800, a 24-string Harpejji, a Haken Continuum, a Hammond 44HP Melodica, a lot of quartz crystal bowls and pyramids, and an array of hand drums and small percussion.
